About Bonnie Flint
Inspired by Georgia O'Keefe's paintings of flowers, Bonnie began to paint in 1937. Her first two paintings were oil on wood, in the style of O'Keefe. Although drawn to the fields of art and craft, she would not take up the brush again until her retirement from Los Angeles City Schools as a teacher/vice-principal.
A move to Kona, HI in 1979 and the discovery of the Old Coffee Mill Art Center launched her on the artistic path that would engage her until her death in 2015. She mounted two one woman shows in Kona, a collection of vibrant paintings, influenced by the exotic flowers and intense colors of Hawaii.
On returning to California in 1993, Ms. Flint continued to draw and paint, deriving inspiration from the high desert and local flora near her home in Laguna Woods. Her work was exhibited through the Laguna Woods Art Association. She painted until two weeks before her passing at the age of 101.
